Zoo Field trip Part 3 - The Giraffes!

I fed giraffes! We all fed giraffes! It was the coolest thing ever. When I win the lottery I'm buying a giraffe and I will ride it around and feed it bananas all day long. There's lots of short video of this. It was just so amazing.

Wait for the end on this one, you'll get a nice close up of the baby giraffe nomming on some banana.

It was very hard to be an adult and stand back so I did not hog the giraffes and bananas.

Zoo Field Trip Part 2 - feeding fish and birds

Here are a few videos of fish. The first is of archer fish spitting water at the prey. This one really shows off the way they catch their crickets. The second is of some geriatric piranhas chowing down on shrimp. My card ran out of memory in the middle :(

The third video and the pictures are from The Birds and the Bees exhibit at the zoo. It is pretty much a big tent filled with budgies and millet. I was pulling millet seed out of my hair all night.

Trip to the zoo Pt. 1- Gorillas

On a field trip to the zoo we made it right at opening and stopped by the gorillas first. The new male still seems freaked out by people. The girl gorilla started walking up to the male who was checking everybody out. I pressed play for a video and at that exact moment he freaked out at a baby's squeal! Thanks to digital camera lag I caught the last few moments of him beating his chest, but it is still awesome to see him jump and run.

Here are a few more gorilla pictures. They are really neat, but the male was mean-mugging me and his people eyes made me feel a bit uncomfortable, like how I would look if a crowd of people were staring at me through a window.
